Adam Lipworth, MD
 
Adam D. Lipworth, MD, is Chair of Dermatology at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, a Harvard Medical School Assistant Professor, Part-time, and the founding director of the Lahey Skin Infection Program.  He received his Medical Degree from the University of Pennsylvania before moving to Boston for his internship at Massachusetts General Hospital, and then Dermatology Residency in the Harvard Combined Program.  After residency he completed an apprenticeship in Infectious Disease Dermatology, under the tutelage of Dr. Rachael Morris-Jones and Professor Roderick Hay.  Dr. Lipworth has extensive experience working in underserved communities locally and internationally, including in South Africa, Botswana, Navajo Nation in New Mexico, and at the Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program.  From 2010-2018 he co-directed the American Academy of Dermatology Resident International Grant, a program that sends US and Canadian senior dermatology residents to staff the primary government referral dermatology clinic for the nation of Botswana. Dr. Lipworth’s clinical practice at Lahey focuses on the multidisciplinary care of patients with primary cutaneous infections or systemic infections affecting the skin, including HIV, and he assists in the care of Lahey’s Hansen’s Disease patients.
