The Society of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners is always interested in new leaders to support the organization. These volunteers provide leadership to the Board and members of SDNP. 

Call for Nominations: SDNP Board of Directors

The Society of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners is excited to announce the opening of nominations for key leadership positions within our organization. This is a unique opportunity for passionate and dedicated members to shape the future success and expansion of SDNP.  Nominate yourself and/or a fellow member for the following position(s): 

  • President-elect (2024-25; president 2025-26; past president 2026-27)
  • Treasurer (2024-27)
  • Two (2) Directors (2024-26)
  • Two (2) Directors (2024-27)

 Important Dates:

  • Submission Period: January 10 – February 4
  • Installation: During the Annual Meeting & Awards session 5:15 pm Saturday, April 27 at the 2024 National Conference 

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Active membership in SDNP;
  • Demonstrated commitment to the field of dermatology nursing;
  • Strong leadership qualities and a vision for the future of SDNP;
  • Availability to fulfill the responsibilities of the respective position.

 How to Apply or Nominate:

  1. Complete the Nomination Form.
  2. Include a brief biography and statement of interest from the nominee.
  3. Submit all documents by the February 4 deadline.

 Election Process:

  • Nominations will be reviewed by the Board.
  • Candidates will be notified of their eligibility.
  • Election results will be announced February 28, 2024. 

 Positions Overview: The board of directors has a monthly 1-hour virtual meeting.  They meet in-person at the SDNP National Conference and during either the June or the September Maui Derm NP meeting. Travel expenses are reimbursed for Board members.  Additionally, Directors serve as Board Liaison to a committee and should plan to attend those calls and help with offline work, as needed.  Overall time commitment is 2-4 hours a month. 

President-elect:

  • Supports the President and prepares for the transition to the presidency.
  • Assumes the role of President in the following term.

 Term:

  • President-elect (2024-25)
  • President (2025-26)
  • Past president (2026-27) 

 Treasurer:

  • Manages the financial affairs of SDNP.
  • Provides financial reports and budget recommendations.

 Term: 2024-27 

Directors:

  • Contribute to the strategic planning and decision-making of SDNP.
  • Represent the interests of the membership.

 Term:

  1. Two (2) Directors (2024-26)
  2. Two (2) Directors (2024-27)
